A large north sea asset sale between two major energy companies meant that the associated documentation must also be passed across in a secure manner, and under strict deadlines.

1. A controlled program of extraction was created, to deliver relevant data in response to adhoc requests from the new owner.
2. Complex scripts were created to pull randomly-placed, but relevant data together into batches for extraction
3. Mass manipulation of metadata using custom code, meant hundreds of thousands of documents could be dealt with in a controlled, auditable manner.

The result was a hugely successful transfer of asset information to the new owner, with minimal document loss (ratio of just 2 documents per million transferred).
