Project Management software rollout
Challenge:
To train all members of our Client’s project teams on the use of a new, project-reporting software tool.
Solution:
- Form ‘steering group’ to define the requirements for the software package within each project and decide the best method of engaging with project personnel
- Generate awareness of the product. Attend group-wide, team meetings to present a software overview to team leaders and project managers, for them to filter information to team members
- Devlop the Training Model. A Classroom-style training plan was developed along with comprehensive user and quick reference guides
- Deliver the software training to the first project team, then evaluate the success.
- Tailor the training to take account of the evaluation results and then deliver to all the other projects
Results:
Appetite delivered a one-day event, where all staff received practical training to help them utilise the new software effectively. This successfully resulted in increased reporting capability and improved tracking of ongoing actions, tasks and risks across the project. Having a common system in place across all projects has resulted in better opportunities for cross-project support and movement between teams.
